a message from our president.....
Greetings!
As we begin a new decade in Braddock Heights history, I welcome you to join us, as we recall the past with fondness and enjoy the present with one another. Braddock Heights has a rich history of charming places, and most importantly,
the wonderful people who have come and gone and have made Braddock Heights the incredible community that it is today.
It is an honor to serve as president of our community's Historical Society. We look forward to sharing and making more history
with you at our Braddock Heights Historical Society meetings on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:30.
Carol Daiger

BHHS NEWS
“Part 3 in the series on the History of the Braddock Heights Park ”
Topic of BHHS October Meeting
With fall at our doorstep here in Braddock, the air is getting a bit cooler and the leaves are beginning to fall ... where did the summer go? As always our autumn spirit lifts us into new activities within the Braddock Heights Historical Society.
Please join us for our general membership meeting and “Part 3 in the series on the History of the Braddock Heights Park ” on Tuesday, September 27th at 7:00 PM at the Home at Braddock Inn. Rare 1940's film footage of the BH Park will be shared. This features the sliding board, train, swimming pool and our beloved Braddock Inn which has served as a hub for over a hundred years for the fun seekers coming to the park from around the country. A wonderful presentation will also be shared on the dance pavilion and Mountain Theater. Come and take a trip with us down memory lane and share your stories as well!
Also mark your calendars for our annual BHHS Dinner auction held at the Braddock Inn Saturday, October 8th. The activities include a social with a cash bar and appetizers with time to review action items from 5-6 PM. The social will be followed by a dinner at 6 PM and the auction at 7 PM led by our friend and auctioneer, Robert Wilson. This year's theme is "Hie On Up to Braddock" the title of one of the verses in the original " Braddock Views and Verses" written in the early 1900's by Mrs. Hammond Urner of the Braddock Porch Club. Auction items will include Braddock Heights memorabilia and collectibles, antiques, rare items, books, framed photos, paintings, and much much more.
Tickets are $20 per person with dinner included and $10 for children under 12.
